MEDFORD, Wis. – January 6, 2017 – Weather Shield will unveil a number of new Contemporary Collection™ and Premium Series™ products at the International Builders’ Show (IBS) January 10-12, 2017.

Oversized Casements & Awnings – capable of achieving sizes 42” x 95” & 60”x 48”

  • Designed and engineered for high-end, custom homes with expansive views for maximum viewing space and optimal ventilation.
  • Available in crank-out and manual push-out configurations.
  • Available in seven custom interior wood species and custom primed, painted or stained interior finishes.
  • Available in 12 standard and 45 designer exterior colors with eight anodized aluminum, 12 metallic finishes and custom options. 
  • Expanded contemporary hardware for casements, awnings, and hinged patio doors, new sliding patio door hardware and expanded lift-slide hardware*.
    • Developed in concert with architects and designers to achieve a simple, sophisticated and functional piece of hardware. 
    • This hardware is a crucial link to maintaining contemporary design continuity throughout all elements of the windows and doors.
    • Minimal, contemporary casement/awning hardware folds neatly out of the way. 
    • With a single throw of a lever, the sash locks sequentially in multiple places to create a virtually airtight seal.

Automated Multi-slide Patio Door

  • Developed to complement high-tech smart-home systems, providing ultimate luxury when designing custom outdoor living environments.
  • This automated, recessing door can be controlled by a discreet push-button panel on the wall or can be connected to most smart-home systems through a new iPhone/Android app that controls door operation. 
  • The system includes multiple sensors to prevent the door from closing on a person or an object. 
  • The motorized system has a battery backup to power a limited number of operations in case of power outages. 
  • Can accommodate openings as large as 50-feet wide and 10-feet tall and are available in single, and bi-parting.
  • Available in 1-3/4” or 2-1/4” thick door inserts/panels.
  • Available in seven custom interior wood species and custom primed, painted or stained interior finishes.

Multi-slide Patio Door with T-track Sill

  • Multi-slide doors are engineered for ultimate freedom when designing beautiful, custom outdoor living environments. 
  • Can accommodate openings as large as 50-feet wide and 10-feet tall and are available in single, bi-parting and 90-degree corner configurations. 
  • T-track provides a clean finished floor appearance by allowing wood or tile flooring to be situated between sill tracks.
  • T-track sill design simplifies installation with integrated sill adjustments and complete frame design, resulting in cost savings and additional reliability. 
  • Available in seven custom interior wood species and custom primed, painted or stained interior finishes.

Redesigned Push-out Casement and Awning Window

  • Offers taller window heights, up to 8 feet.
  • German-engineered locking system, with adjustable roller cams, offers superior performance and unrivaled operation at any size.
  • Hardware is made of high-grade stainless steel for corrosion resistance and lasting performance.
  • Features two handle designs: transitional and contemporary.
  • Handle can be placed in a location for all unit heights to provide a consistent appearance. And, alternative handle heights are available to meet code requirements. 

 

Retractable Screen

  • Offer a flawless appearance with no visible track system or exposed screen canister.
  • Design maximizes total viewing area by recessing screen components into the side jamb and head of the unit. 
  • Features a wood guide bar with well-designed valence to create an upscale, contemporary appearance.
  • Rare-earth magnets hold wood guide bar in the locked position, eliminating exposed fasteners or unsightly clips.

 

S1 Screen 

  • Weather Shield partnered with Centor®, a leading screen manufacturer, to offer the S1 Screen for Multi-slide, Lift-slide, and Bi-fold patio doors. Centor is the first manufacturer to offer a retractable insect screen and solar shade with virtually effortless fingertip operation. 
  • Load Balancing Technology™ allows for effortless fingertip control with no crude spring-loading to fight against.  The screen’s lead-stile remains firmly in any position until it is moved to the desired location.
  • Tight Technology™ manufacturing techniques ensure control of the horizontal edges of the screen so they remain straight and tight across the widest spans.
  • Shock absorption mechanism helps prevent system damage by redirecting impact away from the screen.
