Weather Shield’s custom capabilities really came into play with the renovation of the historic Harvey Hall at the University of Wisconsin – Stout. The brick building’s monumental windows were 100 years old and needed to be replaced. Rather than replacing just the sashes, Weather Shield replicated the building’s original windows using Premium Series single hung windows with custom brickmould casing, custom sash lugs, two custom exterior colors, custom wood species (white oak - FSC®), and custom interior stain color.
The renovated classroom and office building is nearing completion and is slated to reopen in Spring 2016. Weather Shield owes much of the success of this project to the project manager, Sally Thomas, in our architectural services department, and River Architects of La Crosse, Wisconsin.
